Chair Makeover and Modern Masters Paint Giveaway

Thank you Modern Masters for sponsoring this giveaway.

I had mentioned last week I’d be hosting a Modern Masters Paint Giveaway and today is the day!

Modern Masters Paint Giveaway at The Silly Pearl

But first, remember the chair I reuphostered when I repainted my vanity with Modern Masters Metallic Paint last week?

ModernMasters10

Here is the chair now with a touch of shimmer using Modern Masters Metallic Paint in Warm Silver. I love this color. It was more of a background color on my vanity, but it’s more upfront on the chair along with the new upholstery.

By the way, I actually have two of these chairs. I found both of the chairs at Salvation Army for less $10 each. They were the same brand as the vintage folding chair I fixed up over here, but modern-day versions. Here is one of them, before. The other looked pretty much the same.

I wanted to try my hand at that “dipped” paint look. So first I figured out how much paint I wanted to apply on the back of the chair by lining it up to the vanity and using tape as my guide.

Then I taped off each spindle on the chair and painted everything above that.

I repeated everything with the other chair.

All done.

Love the additional shimmer but it’s not too much with the vanity. I’ll keep one with the vanity and the other will be a put-on-shoes chair near the entryway. Then they will serve as extra seating in the dining room when needed.

Before and After. I like that the dipped effect and the fabric modernize the more contemporary lines of the chair.

  1. Absolutely love your DIY project, they chair stands out with the metallic touch. I can't get enough of DIY projects, there are so many creative people in this world (thank you)...especially making something beautiful out of something plain. Great job.
I'd love to try the Metallic Paint from them and as for what I'd use it on...the possibilities are endless...to name a few, I'd dip some vases, legs of chairs, maybe a stencil or two...stopping from 'metallic-ing' the whole house would be hard.

  2. I looked through all of the products and they all look great. But, if I had to choose I like the front door paint. Such an easy way to give your house a new look and a pop of color.

  4. I want to try it ALL lol! Seriously though, I'd have a hard time choosing if I win because their paints all look amazing. I really want to try the metallics, but honestly, I'm pretty sure my front door could benefit from their front door paint the most! I've been playing with their app trying to choose a color for weeks already! ;)
