Last month, I talked about my mini backyard oasis, specifically our teeny little deck. It's where I recharge, enjoy the quiet outdoors, and dabble in gardening. But I'm not the only one who enjoys the deck...so do my girls!
Sometimes I think the deck should be renamed "The Bubble Blowing Area." I'm pretty sure this is the main purpose of the deck.
We also love to dine alfresco, another favorite of the girls.
I'm thrilled that they love to help with my plants. They were the ones who sprinkled the tomato seeds that started this...
And with some love...
...we have this today! Can you believe it?
Look! A Brandywine tomato.
And Yellow Pears. Both types of tomatoes remind me of my childhood.
Oh don't forget Dada. He loves the BBQ (so do we!) and if it's a mild day out, he's known to sit out there with his laptop.
Over the last two years, our activity out here has increased, so that means more supplies. Check out what I bought at Sears today...this Suncast storage box. I seriously had the BEST experience purchasing this at my local Sears.
Look at how much I can store...with room to spare! I no longer have to drag the chairs and potting soil through the house from the garage.
Will you indulge me as I share two more plants on our deck? The girls also sprinkled basil seeds around the same time as the tomatoes. I cannot tell you how awesome it is to just go to the back yard and pick some fresh leaves and add them to a dish.
And the newest addition...the dahlia. I purchased this one full-grown, and it's still producing new flowers.
This sunny happy pot rack I found at the thrift store. The neon happy sneakers I got at Sears as well.
When we first moved here, I didn't think we'd do a lot on this deck. And while technically it still isn't a lot, it actually is to me. So many sweet little memories. My first success with gardening, together with my girls. Enjoying each other as a family. Yes, it's definitely a lot, for such a modest little deck. I couldn't be more thankful for it!
