Getting Ready for Back to School Shopping with #MomsGuide

My girls have a month and 3 days left until their FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN! How is that possible? It seems like just yesterday that they were first starting preschool.

It seems like just yesterday that they came home from the NICU even!

When they were teeny babies, and even when they were just starting preschool, shopping for the things they needed was pretty easy in that we knew what essentials to buy.

But now I’m facing my first Back-to-School shopping experience! I’m in denial, and I’m overwhelmed. Clothes? Backpacks? School supplies? Lunch supplies? AAHHH!

So I’m really glad to have the #MomsGuide for Back to School! As I looked through it, I started to feel less overwhelmed, and more ready to tackle this task.

  1. Thanks for sharing the eguide. My son doesn't go back to school until after labor day - but we have already started picking up back to school supplies here and there.

  3. It seems like just yesterday that my babies were in school. The time really flies! My babies are 43, 42, and 39. It is so hard to realize that my babies are that old! Enjoy every minute you can while they are still young.

  5. Make a list is my best tips when it comes to clothes. If I shop off a list (you know 4 more long sleeved shirts size 6) then I get what I need. If I don't, I come home with all pants and skirts and no shirts! You do great and they are such cuties!! Have fun with off to school for the 1st time to school shopping!

  6. Your girls are so cute! Be prepared for the emotions when you drop them off, it can be tough. Also label everything with their names and be prepared for the millions of papers that will come home.

  7. Your girls are always so adorable! Love this guide! When we start getting ready for back to school, I contact the school about 3 weeks prior to starting to get their list of supplies needed as well as their school rules (appropriate attire, additional things they will need etc since it could always change)
To save me from headaches, I let the kids pick out what they want as far as their clothes, backpack, shoes and binders. For the basic necessities, I do the shopping on my own (saves my sanity.
Since we tend to go to Summer schedule, about a week before school starts we start going to bed early and getting up early so I get them used to our steady schedule again.
Good luck with your babies going to school for the first time!

  8. Mine is in his second year of High School, so it's been a long time for me since he was little :) I don't think I would be much help. But... your girls are super Qt's!!!!

  9. Buy when things are on sale. Buy enough glue sticks, etc to last all year. You will be surprised how many things a kindergartener will run through.

  11. Definitely make a list and keep it with you. You never know when you'll see something on sale that's on your list. And don't forget to label everything with their names! Good luck with your darling girls and their first day of school.
